Health Declaration for Entry and Exit into China – Updated august 30, 2023

As of August 30, 2023, new instructions for health declaration have been implemented for travellers entering and exiting China. The updated procedure is as follows:

Starting from August 30, 2023 (local time), travellers heading to China will no longer be required to undergo pre-entry COVID-19 nucleic acid or antigen testing.
Additionally, the process for filling out the “People’s Republic of China Entry/Exit Health Declaration Card” has been simplified.

Declaration of Entry Customs Code:

  1. You must complete the customs code declaration within 24 hours of your flight’s arrival in China. Please note that the declaration will expire if it is submitted beyond the 24-hour timeframe.
  2. Select the “Entry” option in the entry and exit health declaration card.
  3. Accurately provide your personal information and flight details.
  4. If your transportation form does not include a seat number, you can temporarily fill in “0.”
  5. Upon submission, you will receive a “customs black code,” which should be saved as a screenshot for future reference when going through China Customs.

Methods to Declare Entry Customs Code:

  2. Mobile Application: “Pocket Customs”
    • Download the “Pocket Customs” app on your mobile phone to complete the “People’s Republic of China Entry/Exit Health Declaration Card.”
  3. WeChat Mini Program:
    • Scan the QR code of the mini program on WeChat for convenient access to the declaration process.

Please note that these updated procedures are in effect as of August 30, 2023, and aim to streamline the health declaration process for travellers entering and exiting China. Ensure that you comply with these requirements for a smoother entry into the country.
